Xin Wang Hong Kong Kitchen
Saturday, September 8, 2007
This particular Xin Wang HK Kitchen is at Pasir Ris White Sands. Unfortunately, it wasn't a particularly good experience. The food wasn't entirely crap but given the pricing, the quality wasn't all that hot. Looks like you're actually paying for the looks more than the quality of the food they serve!
Oooh pretty menu pictures. Yep, that's pretty much it.
The kitchen.. just past this bunch of peeps.. .
Milk tea and coffee I think...
Ah my dish. Baked rice with pork chop (Yes, single pork chop). Disappointing I have to say. Too little meat too much carb. Melt cheese + rice = not a good combination. Supposed to be the 'Hong Kong' style baked rice, but as our resident HK food expert (Eliza) claims it's not even close.
Curry chicken dish with steam rice. Really nothing out there, tastes *okay* but as mentioned before, lacks the Hong Kong authenticity. In fact it felt more of a local dish. Alas.
Acting strange again.. but I'm happy with that.
Overall, a waste of lunch time and money. Wouldn't come back here again. Place looks pretty, semi-nice setting (oh and 24hr on the weekends if you're really hard up for food) but that's about it. Food wise, really nothing to scream about. About $30 for 2 people for lunch.
